We booked a train ride, stayed 2 nights in this godforsaken place to wait for that train and then urged further 10 hours to Trains From Lucknow. Even at the station we had learned about Chris and Kylie, an Australian pair had had a miserable time in Gorakhpur and now very glad finally to see white people again. The long time the train was shortened by the notables getater with these new friends about the adventures of the last days (they had about the same route as we look back) and at the end of the trip was clear that we have a while Four people were traveling. We started already with quite some trouble.
