Idaho Fire Season in Full Force Near Bliss
Nearly 5,000 acres of southern Idaho real estate were burning over the weekend due to lightning strikes. Two fires, 2,730 acres south and 2,240 north of Bliss, are burning sage brush and grasslands managed by the Federal Bureau of Land Management.
According to the Associated Press and KHQ.com, 150 fire fighters supported by an air tanker and two helicopters are battling the fast moving brush fires. There have been no reports of structural damage except for some power poles that are being repaired by Idaho Power.
One fire is burning close to 15 windmill power generation turbines, but no damage to the equipment has been reported.
