If you want fun and adventure, then nothing could be more fun and more adventurous than to travel with your family. The last time we travel is way back 2004 and my parents decide that it’s about time we visit other countries once more. What’s even more exciting is the fact that my little brother will come with us. I have a 6-year-old brother and he brings so much joy to the family. I’m planning of buying a suitcase among the many kids suitcases in the market that’s why I’m seeking advice from my friends. I know what to do now; I’ll go online first and see the color that will match my brother’s personality.

Being quoted in The Argus , Fawcett Society chief executive Ceri Goddard said: “If all the candidates are women that is cause for celebration but also concern that it has taken until 2009, whereas all-male elections are still the norm.

“The voters if Brighton can be pleased that whom ever they elect they will be a step closer to closing the gender gap in parliament where currently less than 20% of our MP’s are women – less than Iraq, Afghanistan and Rwanda.”

‘Less than Iraq, Afghanistan and Rwanda……… ‘ – personally that particular assertion left me somewhat flurried about the state of our governmental arena and curious as to the reasons for male supremacy above and beyond the old antecedency that men should have it entirely their own way – and its a whole Pandoras box of discourse  that is better left for another place .

But my function here now is as – as always – to fly the flag for Brighton and Hove and demonstrate how fore reasoning and politically mindful our town is, and having  a ratio of men to women in parliament  more symbolic of the population, is in my opinion, a stride in the right direction!

My daughter just called me on the phone. Her best friend, who is getting married in a week, was really upset. It turns out that she had miscalculated the catering bill and it’s going to cost twice as much as she had thought. We often can find excellent discounts online if we just take a little time to do the research. Sue called me yesterday to say that she had found a place offering affordable oceanfront lodging in Rockport Maine called the Ledges By The Bay. It is amazing how much money you can save if you just know where to look. I cannot wait to see what I will find next.

You tend to not notice really good service unless you have a problem or issue. Calm customers are easy to make happy, but stressful situations are a bit more challenging. I was never as happy for the great service of Bristol airport parking as when I was running late for my flight. Because I had taken the time pay online and do the booking in advance, I was able to drive right through, get my car secured and run for the terminal. I barely made it after clearing security, so I’m certain that a process even slightly more time consuming would have bumped me and upset my schedule.

Next fall a group of graduate students from my university is going over to the United Kingdom for a presentation to some of the schools there. We are honored to be asked to come and excited to be able to work some sight-seeing into out itinerary. The hosts have booked a Bus Hire Company to transport us from one destination to the next. This is such a great opportunity for the exchange of ideas to take place between scholars from different parts of the world. Perhaps together we can come up with some ideas that can change the quality of life in both of our countries.
